Welcome to Study Hiragana. By accessing or using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service. The same terms apply to our companion site, the other of studyhiragana.com / studykatakana.com. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Use of the Site

This site provides free educational content for learning Japanese hiragana and katakana writing systems. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial study without registration.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that could disrupt, overload, or impair its operation.
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features.
• Scrape or systematically extract content for commercial republication.
• Use automated tools to inflate metrics, ad impressions, or interactions.

3. Educational Content Disclaimer

The content on this site is provided for educational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy in stroke order, romaji, and pronunciation, the site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Always cross-reference with authoritative Japanese language sources for academic or professional use.

4. Intellectual Property

All site content (including stroke order data, illustrations, and code) is owned by us or our licensors. You may use the practice sheets and flashcards for personal study and printing. Redistribution, modification, or commercial use requires prior written permission.

5. Third-Party Links and Services

The site may contain links to third-party websites and may serve third-party advertising via Google AdSense. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of third-party sites. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising and analytics.

6. Shop Purchases

These terms apply when you buy a product (such as a poster) from our shop. Legally required seller information is on our Commerce Disclosure (特定商取引法に基づく表記) page.

• Made to order. Every product is printed on demand after you order, by our production partner Gelato, and shipped directly to you from a facility near the delivery address.
• Prices. Prices are shown in US dollars and include shipping to the country you select. The amount shown before you pay is the amount you are charged. Your card issuer may add its own currency-conversion fee.
• Payment. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. You are charged when you place your order.
• Delivery. Orders are usually produced and handed to the carrier within 2–4 business days, and delivery typically takes a further 3–12 days depending on the destination. These are estimates, not guarantees. You will receive a tracking link by email when your order ships.
• Customs and import charges. Some orders are produced in a different country from the delivery address. Any import duties or taxes charged by the destination country are payable by the recipient.
• Cancellations. Because production starts quickly, contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. We can cancel and refund an order only if it has not yet gone into production.
• Returns. Because each item is made to order, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind, including choosing the wrong size or language.
• Damaged, defective or incorrect items. If your item arrives damaged, misprinted, or is not what you ordered, email us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We will send a free replacement or give you a full refund, at no cost to you.
• Lost parcels. If tracking shows no progress for an unusually long time, contact us and we will work with the carrier and our production partner to resolve it, including a replacement or refund where the parcel is lost.
• Personal use. Products are sold for personal and classroom use. The designs remain our intellectual property; buying a product does not grant the right to reproduce the design.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, where the site is operated. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in Japan. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights you have under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
