Cách phát âm
Ký tự す đại diện cho âm tiết 'su', âm 's' nhẹ theo sau bởi 'u' (môi thả lỏng). Trong lời nói thông thường, âm 'u' đôi khi gần như im lặng, đặc biệt ở cuối các từ như 'desu' (です) thường được phát âm giống 'dess'. Thuộc hàng さ.
