Pagbigkas
Ang karakter na め ay kumakatawan sa pantig na 'me', isang malambot na 'm' na sinusundan ng 'e' tulad ng sa 'pet'. Bahagi ng ま-row. Mag-ingat: ang め ay parang ぬ (nu) — pero ang め ay mas bukas, samantalang ang ぬ ay may dagdag na saradong loop sa kanang ibaba.
